From 1st April 2019, the new Duty of Candour came into effect. This means that at Anderson’s we must, by law, take specific steps to carry out our duty of candour when things go wrong or a serious adverse incident occurs. In this situation, we will let the people affected know what happened, offer to meet them and apologise.
We also produce and publish an annual report which shows the learning arising from any incident.
The Care Inspectorate are notified that a report has been published.
One of the most important considerations to think about when someone is contemplating moving into a care home are the costs. Everyone is expected to make some contribution to their care home fees however the amount to be paid depends on, amongst other things, whether you qualify for financial assistance from the local authority or not.
